diving trip to Greenland truly deserves to be called
"Expedition".
Even if one you find mostly European living standards
here, it is good to know some facts before you travel. |

- Greenland
is accessible by plane from almost all European
countries via Copen-hagen (DK) and Reykjavik (IS).
- The time difference is - 4 hours (East Greenland).
- 230 volt AC power required, no adapter, power
supply usually 24.
- currency is the Danish krone, 1 € is about 7 DKK.
- The price level is generally high, and because of
the irregular supply, there are not always all the
products in the shops available.
- Credit cards are accepted in the bigger shopa; PIN
required.
- At the airport is NO ATM, only in the capital.
- Total ban for "hard" alcohol in East
Greenland, but beer and wine are available.
- Speak the Inuit people, even many Danish and
partly in English.
- In East Greenland, there are virtually no roads
and cars. Boats, helicopters and dog sleds are used
for locomotion.
- Most places do not have particularly high standard.
Running water is usually present but sometimes only
a dry toilet for lack sewer connection.
- Internet is available in some accommodations.
- The luggage should be as easy as possible, but as
extensive as necessary. The luggage can be
cumbersome and expensive, but are hardly spare parts
and special things for photo and film available on
site. It is therefore important to weigh. |
